SERRA is an Algerian start-up company led by IGEE students in the scope of the competition "Company Program" organised by INJAZ AL-DJAZAIR.
SERRA aims to introduce modern control systems to green houses. These systems monitor several environmental parameters including: temperature, humidity and lightening. A environment and adjust it, accordingly to the crops, for an effective growth. A reliable sensors network is installed to collect live data about the greenhouse to boost the growth of crops and preserve their health. In addition, SERRA proposes natural fertilizers made of volcanic ashe minerals .
By Automating green
houses, as SERRA suggests, offers advantages for many agriculture segments. It
increases the productivity sufficiently for the market, improves the quality of
the crops and optimizes the environment in which they grow while minimizing the
undesired effects of the external environment. Another advantage is reducing
labor and allowing farmers to handle large surface farms easily. SERRA also
extends the variety of crops that can be cultivated due to its ability to set
the proper climate for any plantation.
SERRA has flexible
automation systems that allow future developments such as controlling further
parameters: level of carbon dioxide (CO2)…etc and many desired properties may
be added.
